Dr. Robert Taub

A graduate of Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Robert Taub, M.D. is Professor of Clinical Medicine and an attending oncologist at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons – New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Board certified in hematology, oncology, internal medicine, and allergy and immunology, Dr. Taub received his undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University and did post-graduate work at New England Medical Center/Tufts University and Yale University School of Medicine. Later in life, he earned a degree in Zoology from London University.

Taub has currently been in practice for more than half a century and is well known in his field. Previous positions held by Dr. Taub include Associate in Medicine and Hematology and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital School of Medicine; Associate Director of Clinical Affairs, Professor of Internal Medicine and Microbiology, Chairman of the Division of Medical Oncology, and Chief Attending Oncologist at the Medical College of Virginia; and Deputy Director for Cancer Control, Deputy Director for Clinical Research and Patient Care, and Director of the Inpatient Medical Oncology Unit at Columbia University Comprehensive Cancer Center.

As an expert in mesothelioma, Dr. Taub co-authored an article focused on the use of chemotherapy for malignant mesothelioma for a publication entitled “Seminars in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.”  He has also written and co-written several articles and papers on a variety of topics for numerous medical journals and other publications.

Dr. Taub is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Society for Clinical Oncology. He previously served as the Director-at-Large of the American Cancer Society, Virginia Division, during his tenure at the Medical College of Virginia.
