Dr. Roman Perez-Soler

A graduate of Universidad Autonoma in Barcelona , Spain, Dr. Roman Perez-Soler, MD, is Associate Director of Clinical Oncology at the New York University Medical Center, Chairman of the Department of Oncology at Montefiore Medical Center, and Director of the Division of Medical Oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Also trained at Texas’s M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he completed his fellowship in medical oncology and spent 13 years as a thoracic oncologist, Perez-Soler also serves as Professor of Medicine and Molecular Pharmacology at the aforementioned Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Perez-Soler treats patients with a variety of types of cancers but shows particular interest in the study of novel therapies such as phototherapy and gene therapy. As such, he has received accolades for his research into new cancer treatments and his accomplishments have prompted invitations to speak at numerous gatherings of professionals in the field of cancer treatment. He has also authored and co-authored more than 150 papers about his research studies and is considered an international expert in the field of experimental cancer therapy.

Dr. Perez-Soler is also the founder of Aronex Pharmaceuticals, Inc., as well as Transave, Inc., a new pharmaceutical company that specializes in aerosol delivery of anti-tumor agents and antibiotics. In addition, he is a member of the Executive Advisory Committee of the General Clinical Research Center.
